A downloadable game
A remake of my game "The Hunch", which itself was an expanded remake of the arcade game "Hunchback". Re-written from the ground upremoving the 'cross-hatch' pixel style used before, enhanced graphics, controller support, switchable scanlines and a save point after the first set of levels.
Meet Mr Hunch - he has a humped back, a winning smile, and absolutely no business challenging royalty. But when the King locks Esmerelda in his tallest tower, hoping she’ll fall for his riches and shiny ceremonial breastplate, Mr Hunch is not having any of it.
Now, with arrows flying and guards scrambling, Mr Hunch scrambles up the battlements, risking life, limb, and dignity—all in the name of love.
One man. One hump. One wildly misplaced sense of optimism. Will love conquer archers, aesthetics, and aristocracy? The fate of romance rests on one very iffy vertebra.

Nice conversion of an old C64 classic and of course the 2024 clone "Good Knight". Our German-language review can be found in our recorded livestream starting at 05:02:43. English subtitles are also available. Subscription to our YouTube and Twitch channel is welcome. 🙂
Ran into a little glitch when using a controller. Pressing the pause button on my Xbox controller rapidly pauses and unpauses the game.

The first screen of Hunchback II was actually the last screen of the Arcade Hunchback and is included here. Commando is a good thought - I'm always looking for something different to have a stab at so you never know.
never knew that - hunchback 2 was great back in the day on the speccy. ye, never been a good commando clone / copy. the one on ps3 was rank. Loved your zx homage games (project zx ones) - those were genious.
Thanks, I'd been playing your original version once in a while, although I think I reached the second loop barely more than once in part because for a long time I approached the part inside the tower terribly wrong.
Hiya - glad you liked the first one. The second set of screens in this one are different from my first version - thought I'd add a bit of variety!
